Legalization of Belarusians in Poland 2026
The legal environment for citizens of Belarus in Poland has specific pathways. Following the suspension of the Poland Business Harbour program and the inability to renew passports at embassies (Decree 278), the main focus has shifted to humanitarian residence cards, Polish travel documents, and international protection.
Humanitarian Residence Card
Issued for up to 3 years and fully exempts you from the need to obtain a work permit. This status allows you to legally reside, work, and open a sole proprietorship (JDG) in Poland.
Polish Travel Document for a Foreigner
Since Belarusian embassies have stopped issuing passports abroad, Belarusians can obtain a Polish travel document (Polski Dokument Podróży). It replaces your passport for foreign travel. It is available to those with humanitarian residence, permanent residence, or international protection.
Transition from PBH (Poland Business Harbour)
The PBH program is suspended. IT professionals and PBH visa holders must apply in advance for a standard Residence Card for work or an EU Blue Card. We help you smoothly change your status without losing your right to work.
International Protection (Asylum)
For those facing political persecution, applying for international protection is a secure option. While your case is pending, you can legally stay in Poland, and subsequently gain the right to work and a travel document (Geneva passport).
Comprehensive Legal & Administrative Support
We provide comprehensive adaptation assistance: obtaining a PESEL number, address registration (zameldowanie), vehicle registration and customs clearance, as well as legal support for marriage registration in Poland. Our lawyers will handle all the bureaucracy.
